Where Do We Go Now & Are We Going Alone? Part 1
Musings inspired by recent News stories & Star Trek: Enterprise, Discovery, & Strange New Worlds
This is a departure from my usual content. When a new war begins, a tragedy happens, someone important dies, sometimes I have to go on a News Fast. My Bipolar Depression means sometimes I have to step back from the negativity of the news and the internet. This News Fast coincided with the Israeli attack (Please just stop fighting! Everybody, everywhere! Stop it! War is waste, it’s evil, it’s sickness. You don’t have to fight! Diplomacy, please!) and the realization that my Walmart+ subscription comes with free access to the Paramount Channel! That's where the Star Trek prequels and sequel come in. I turned off MSNBC and turned on some amazing shows I hadn't seen yet. I'll get to that in Part 3.
I'm afraid the backstory for the Star Trek universe may be prescient and we need to think long and hard about making sure it isn't. In that timeline, America experiences a 2nd Civil War, which leads to a Eugenics War (we are approaching that now with the convergence of Fascism, White Supremacy, TransHumanism and Patriarchal religion) that ultimately results in WWIII. The Earth is nearly destroyed, but the survivors rebuild and a wizened humanity, with some Contact and technical help from the Vulcans, develop the means of interstellar travel. The Vulcan part is fantasy, but the 2nd Civil War/Eugenics War/WWIII scenario is not only plausible, it looks likely. I'm not going to get into the politics of it right now - I write about that all the time - but there are some things we need to be aware of that may be happening right now.
I read all kinds of news and sci-fi/ancient astronaut/alternative history, etc. No, I don't believe everything I read. I read many sources and I follow links to their sources as well as their critics and I keep an open but skeptical mind. It's hard to know who to trust these days because everything in the US is devolving into a scam, we've become more of an oligarchy than ever, corruption happens in plain sight and our legal/judicial/defense system appears to be both slow and impotent. Don't get me started on Academia. Anyway, is "The Truth" out there? Bits and pieces of it, sure but it's patchwork putting it together.
I read UFO files when released. I've read the High Strangeness reports and have seen the evidence Linda Moulton Howe has assembled through decades of investigative reporting. I read the Cometa Report the French government produced and I know what people in the know say today - even after you believe every swamp gas, insect cloud, ball lightning excuse used to explain these occurrences away, there are still at least 5% of UFO ( or UAP) cases for which there is no other explanation than an extraterrestrial encounter. Some experts say it's as many as 20%! Going with the smaller number, that's at least 1 in 20 for which there's no other plausible explanation. Is there proof? There are cave paintings, carvings on ancient ruins, wood cuts, ancient texts (including the Old Testament) and Renaissance paintings that show or tell of flying objects and even battles in the air. Let's face it, when an extraterrestrial being does make themselves known, there will still be those who won't believe it. Flat Earthers exist, as do COVID deniers and Illuminati believers who ignore things like space shots. NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell stated many times that we've had alien encounters and that we all know what they look like, referring probably to the images some call "the Greys."
I haven't even touched on the Conspiracy Theories that we've had crafts, machinery and bodies at Wright Patterson since the late 40s or that the real UFO info is controlled by Republicans. Richard Nixon showed bodies to Jackie Gleason but they denied the inquiries made by the Clinton Administration? One former government official claimed the computer chip is technology recovered from crashed UFOs that was distributed to private companies to reverse engineer. I believe that last one, and I've had close acquaintance with former workers from Wright Patterson that I trust, so I'm about 80/20 in favor of that being real.
Consider these 2 well-publicized incidents:
I. UFO buzzes O'Hare Airport. Nov 7, 2006
"The Chicago O'Hare UFO sighting occurred on November 7, 2006, around 4:15 p.m. when 12 United Airlines employees and a few witnesses outside O'Hare International Airport reported a sudden UFO sighting. The Federal Aviation Administration refused to investigate the matter because this unidentified flying object (UFO) was not seen on radar, instead calling it a "weather phenomenon."' -Wikipedia
II. The Phoenix Lights March 13, 1997
"The Phoenix Lights (sometimes called the "Lights Over Phoenix") were a series of widely sighted unidentified flying objects observed in the skies over the southwestern states of Arizona and Nevada on March 13, 1997.[2]
A drawing that appeared in USA Today.[1]" -Wikipedia
I bring this up now because of this recent headline:
Secret UFO Arms Race: U.S., China, Russia Competing for Alien Materials Technology, Whistleblower Claims
Story by David Wetzel
Then there's this:
What Is a UFO? The U.S. Shot down Three Mysterious Objects as Interest and Concern Increase Over Unidentified Craft
There are thousands of sightings of UFOs – or "unidentified aerial phenomena" as government prefers to call them – every year.

Don't tell me we knew they weren't of extraterrestrial origin - they didn't what they were until they shot them down. Let's say we are being observed by aliens - would you approach people you thought might shoot you out of the sky? I wouldn't.
We know they would be more advanced than we, but how much more? Are they war-like? Looking for resources? If they were they could easily take what they want, but they haven't.
If you believe stories of abductions and animal mutilations, maybe they're here doing research? Our researchers kill and dissect or capture, tag and release animals every day. Do we explain to those animals what we're doing and why? No, because we can't communicate with them. They aren't advanced enough to understand us so it wouldn't occur to us to try.
The sightings really picked up in the late 1940s and UAPs are often seen around military bases with nuclear capabilities - are they afraid we'll blow ourselves up with tech we aren't smart enough to handle? Are they afraid we'll take it into space?
Or are we reaching a point in technological development to warrant their interest/concern? (In Star Trek: Enterprise the Vulcans make First Contact with humans to help and direct development for interplanetary travel so we advance without damaging anything.) I don't think aliens with that agenda would bring such tech to people with war and war crimes raging on the planet.
My question is: Do we want our government(s) shooting at Unidentified Aerial Phenomena? Are we going to present ourselves as hostile and paranoid to an extraterrestrial visitor? Is getting their technology of such huge military importance that it's worth the risk of pissing them off? That seems a foolish strategy to me. Now would be a good time to let our elected officials know we don't want them angering visitors until we know why they're here.

Hey, Y’all! I have to move before my house literally falls on top of me. Anything at all to my GofFundMe would be greatly appreciated!
Good on you, Morgaine. I was very fortunate to be witness to an elaborate helicopter/ufo hoax way back in '81/'82, out at Hofstra U. on Long Island, NY. This thing was completely silent, hovered, and was festooned with flashing, swirling lights and all. Why or how it was cleared to land on the fields adjacent to our dorms is anyone's guess, but a bunch of drunk, partying college students thought it was the end of the world on that Friday night, LOL! That cured me of any belief -- well that, and becoming acquainted with NJ's own Dr. UFO (Pat what's-his-name), and his history of grift, deception and theft of other's faked materials. Of course, those are not in any way everything to be known, but it frees me in the way that mall Santa Clauses do -- but still, the spirit of Christmas (or Winter Solstice for my Pagan friends) endures! Peace, and good luck with your move.
